Top 3 Stories of 2023

2023 was a year to remember for the Cambridge Floorball Club.

From everything from a travel overseas to seeing the growth of one of the largest tournaments in North America, CFC is starting 2024 on a high and hopes to see the continued growth of floorball within the community for the 2024 year.

1 - CFC Takes on Prague

For the first time ever the Cambridge Floorball Club took a travel team to the Prague Open. Marking both the first time in history an all Canadian team has competed in the tournament, in addition to the first time CFC has taken a team overseas for a tournament.

Having spent time with our partner club Chomotuv Florbal for a pre-tournament camp, the team was firing on all cylinders before starting the Prague Open. The team went 2-1 in pool play before seeing their tournament come to a heartbreaking end with a shootout loss in the round of 16.

The tournament itself was seen as a great success, having a team full of experienced international players and new comers to the big stage. The team had a great experience both on and off the court, and will be looking at travelling to another international tournament in the near future - You can be apart of the team in multiple ways, send us an email to find out more!

2 - First Ever Oxdog Open Tournament

In May of 2023 we saw the first ever Oxdog Open hosted in partnership with Oxdog North America.

The tournament saw teams from all over North America play the firs ever edition. With 13 total teams across 3 different divisions the ournament was a rending success. We saw a couple hundred players, visitors and spectators over the entirety of the weekend and are looking forward to another year of the tournament coming this May!

Being hosted at the University Guelph the tournament will be May 11-12, 2024

Do you want to be apart of the tournament? Whether that is on or off the court we have a spot for you. With many different volunteer and sponsorship opportunities. Send us an email Today!

3 - Adult Recreational League Keeps Growin

Since returning to action after the ending of the global pandemic, our adult recreational has continuously grown to where we are back to a 6 team league. Which is only the beginning.

The covid pandemic saw a stop in all on court action, but we were working hard behind the scenes to make sure we were ready when we got back to action, and it has paid off thus far.

Staring back with 3 teams, we have since doubled our league members and active players seeing 6 teams that will be starting off our 2024 Winter League that is set to kick off tonight at 7pm.

We are always looking for new players, volunteers and sponsors for our leagues and events. If you or someone you know is wanting to get send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as we can to see how we can both benefit from a a relationships moving forward
